UPTOWN parking mobile app makes it easy to find and pay for parking ahead of time allowing customers to enjoy the options of convenient parking while meeting up, shopping, dining, and enjoying Historic Uptown Dallas Texas.
Over 7.5 million people live in Dallas-fort worth texas, Because of this increasing population it is always difficult to find a parking space in downtown Dallas and they are only 2 companies that handle the parking problem in the entire Dallas-fort worth texas. The new demand call for new features that will enrich the user experience and make parking quicker and more seamless than ever.
Conducted user interviews with some of my friends and family members who have their own vehicles and they face parking issues on the daily basis.
How will you describe your typical day and what is your profession?
How often do you use an online vehicle parking app?
Which is your favorite parking app? and why?
How do you get to know about the parking lots, when you have to park your vehicle?
How do you generally pay for parking?
Are there any challenges you face while using the parking apps?
Finding a parking space for your vehicle in a city like Dallas can be a painful experience for the end number of people. It is not the problem of Dallas-Forthworth only but also for the other cities which are highly populated like Dallas-Forthworth. The apps which are generally found lacks practicality and have poor user experience and users find it difficult to navigate within the app and perform their required tasks.
People are not able to find an accurate parking space according to their need.
Most of the available parking option does not provide cashless payment options to the users.
Lack of time extension option in the available apps.
Parking space suggestions are not very quite reliable.
The available app also lacks in showing the specific facilities provided.
My task is to develop the most convenient and clean design of a mobile vehicle parking application. The main aim is to make and provide the users the most seamless and user-friendly for the user to find the best parking options available for their vehicle. We have also made a clear time-reminder and time extension option so that the user can easily track their booking slot. Users can browse through many available parking options which will be verified for their quality check.
Users will be able to find the right parking space according to their suitability.
Availability of cashless payment option through credit and debit card.
Users will get the option to extend their parking time limit.
Users will get safe and secure parking in a safe location.
In order to get a deeper understanding about user behavior and decisions, I have used empathy mapping method. An empathy map is a collective visualization used to articulate what we know about a particular type of user. It provides information about 4 major areas in which we focus our attention: What people think, feel, say, do, see and hear.
A user flow is a path in which the user will navigate through the app, prompting the creation of user flow. This path is divided into a series of steps that the user takes from the entry point through conversion funnels towards the final action (sign up, payment, etc.).
I have created the user flow for the new user who will use the parking app.
They are typically concept sketches, a set of drawings or storyboard, representing the skeleton of the interface.
Choose the closest parking location closer to your location by clicking on the icon and an overlay screen will show up and tell you to enter the details of your car and credit card. you park your car without any interaction with anyone while using the mobile app.
With the mobile app you can reserve your parking spot before getting to the location this is a new feature that the competitors don’t have.
Most users always want to park in the same spot. that is why I created a history screen so that they can see the past zone they park in the past.
