MY ROLE

SR. UI/UX DESIGNER. I was the only designer who worked on the entire project. I designed both the web and mobile views.

THE PROBLEM

Matco Tools’ Loot website was developed 20 years ago and is outdated. Distributors have been complaining about its slow performance and the fact that it doesn’t function like a modern e-commerce website. Moreover, the website is not mobile-friendly and has some accessibility issues for users.

THE APPROACH

The approach is to deisgn a new loot ecommerce that can be use on web and mobile devices and does not have any user accesibilities issue.

All Matco Tools distributors.

RESEARCH

I conducted research interviews with Matco Tools distributors to gather information about their experience while using Loot.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

1. How often do you check for discounts on loot website?

2. Do you check the loot website before starting or after finishing your route?

3. What are the main challenges you face while on the loot website.

4. What new functions do you want to see in the new Loot website?

5. What are your thoughts on the look and feel of the current loot website?

6. How would you rate your overall experience with the current loot website?

IMPORTANT FEADBACK FROM INTERVIEWS

1. All distributors I interviewed stated that they could only purchase and check out one product at a time because the website was outdated and old.

2. According to some distributors, they would like to be able to view the Loot website on their phones before going to bed at night. However, they are unable to do so because the current website is not mobile-friendly.

3. Some distributors have reported that the current Loot website is slow when browsing.

4. During the interview, some distributors expressed a preference for the Loot website to have a cart function, allowing them to add products to a cart.

5. Some distributors have noted that the current loot website lacks a product display page (PDP) and they would like to see more details about the product they are trying to buy.

I have implemented a new function due to the lack of a cart feature on the current loot website. The website has been in existence for over 20 years and during my interview with the distributors, they expressed their desire to have a cart functionality. This will enable customers to add products to the cart and enhance their shopping experience by making it more streamlined.
